UK400 Lists
The uk400 Club publishes and makes available a number of life list record forms in MS Excel format, the latest versions will always be available from this page.
The official UK400 Club – British Birding Association definitive list of birds recorded in Britain and Ireland includes all species recorded in the zoogeographical region that comprises
- Ireland
- Isle of Man
- St Kilda
- Outer Hebrides
- Shetland Islands
- Fair Isle, Orkney
- All of Britain and the Isles of Scilly (the Channel Islands are excluded and considered part of France).
It includes seabird records and ‘At Sea’ records 120 miles west of Porthgwarra and St Kilda, 50 miles north and east of Shetland and 12 miles out to sea from land bases elsewhere around the coastline. It also includes introduction species, with self-supporting populations of 40-10,000 breeding pairs, as well as all records of ship-assisted vagrants, unless that species was kept in confinement during transit. The taxonomy follows that of Evans and is based on the phylogenetic species concept (PSC)”
