Lee’s 40th year in British birding

Another year and another year list! As 2008 begins, I enter my 40th year in British birding. Surely time for LGRE to finally hang up his bins! 2007 was a record-breaking year for me, with a trip to Egypt in July culminating in my 800th species addition (African Black Skimmer) to my Western Palearctic Life List. Back home in Britain, I just about kept my position in the Top 10 with the addition of four new species to my Life List: PACIFIC DIVER, EURASIAN EAGLE OWL (Category C upgrade), WHITE-TAILED PLOVER and NORTH AMERICAN MOURNING DOVE. MOLTONI’S SUBALPINE WARBLER was also new…
